About

Student scholarships

Nearly 20% of students live below the poverty line, therefore with less than €1,026 per month. One in three students has already given up on a primary need such as food or healthcare due to a lack of financial resources. Unfortunately, this precariousness has made one in five students consider stopping their studies. In a public institution, 13% of students took out a loan to finance their studies with a debt amount of €23,000. In private establishments, 30% of students have a loan for a debt amount of €31,000. Since the Covid-19 crisis, these numbers have only increased and scholarship applications have only increased as well. Unfortunately, not all students who apply for a scholarship obtain it and therefore fall into precariousness. Some are even forced not to continue their studies because of scholarship refusals.
