Access to education around the world
Today, nearly 59 million children (8%) do not have access to primary education, 61 million middle school students (16%) and 138 million high school students (35%) also do not have access to education. The rate of out-of-school children in the world has been decreasing since 2000 but since 2013 the progression has been much slower. such as Bolivia or Romania has more than 5% of children out of school. In Asia or North Africa, more than 10% of children are out of school and more than 20% in sub-Saharan Africa. There are large differences between countries.
